Consumer health data
Effective August 31, 2026. This company-level notice explains the boundary. A product-specific health-data notice supplies the controlling details for that product.
Scope
BlackLabel Tech does not request consumer health data through its general contact, careers, newsletter, or sales forms. Do not submit diagnoses, treatment records, insurance information, or other protected health information through those forms.
A BlackLabel product may process information that could be treated as consumer health data under some state laws, including sensor-derived occupancy, movement, sleep-adjacent, safety, wellness, or accessibility information. Its product notice must identify the categories, sources, purposes, disclosure recipients, retention, and controls that actually apply.
Vigil publishes a dedicated consumer health-data notice at blvigil.com/health-data. Its core sensing is designed to remain local; optional features and integrations are described there rather than generalized here.
HIPAA boundary
HIPAA status follows the functions and relationships defined by law, not a product label or contract label alone. BlackLabel public consumer services are not offered to covered entities or business associates for protected health information. A regulated organization must complete a separate compliance review confirming the parties’ roles and required safeguards, and execute any required written Business Associate Agreement, before using a specifically approved service for PHI. Other privacy and breach-notification laws may still apply.
Controls
We use consumer health data only for the product functions, safety, support, security, legal duties, and other purposes disclosed in the applicable product notice or authorized by the user. We do not sell consumer health data or use it for targeted advertising. Product notices identify any processors or user-directed integrations.
Depending on your location, you may request access, confirmation, correction, deletion, or withdrawal of consent for consumer health data. Deleting local-only product data is normally controlled on the device. For company-held data, email michael@blacklabeltec.com.
We investigate suspected unauthorized acquisition of covered information and provide notices when an applicable breach-notification law requires them. Report a suspected issue through the company security page without attaching another person’s sensitive data.
