Business learning · In progress
Black Label Academy
Practical business learning, starting with a break-even worksheet that includes the owner’s pay.
The brief.
A sales target means little until it reflects the costs of running the business and paying the person doing the work.
What we built.
- A free browser break-even worksheet using the user’s costs and price.
- An education app with a sourced-content pipeline.
- Course and access workflows alongside the free starting tools.
How it works.
- 01Enter your operating costs, including owner pay.
- 02Enter the price and costs associated with a sale.
- 03Inspect the resulting target and revise your assumptions.
The result.
The browser worksheet is available as a practical starting point for business planning.
Where it stands.
The worksheet performs planning arithmetic from entered assumptions. It does not forecast demand, profit, or every tax and financing cost.
Platform availability
Windows: Black Label Academy 0.1.0 unsigned early access is available through the buyer account. The Mac edition is sold directly and through the App Store, which also carries the iPhone and iPad app.

Preserved from the original build record. Product status and offers may have changed; the current project summary appears above.
- Problem: drafted lesson content can carry invented figures. Fix: a provenance lint in the content pipeline — every number in course material must trace to a source or the build blocks. The app cannot ship an unsourced statistic.
- Problem: the entitlement check was hardcoded to unlocked — accidentally free forever, with no honest trial. Fix: a real trial engine with a rollback-resistant clock, a hard paywall gate at expiry, and a build contract that bans the old always-unlocked code from ever compiling back in.
- Proof over promises: the installed app prints its own day-zero-through-day-seven trial gate transcript from a self-test flag, so trial behavior is verified mechanically, not by hand.
