Review the delivery
Accept software against a written checklist
Review the behavior you commissioned, including failures and handoff.
Acceptance is easier when the test cases are agreed before implementation. Use a short list of customer journeys with known inputs and expected outcomes. Keep the distinction between a developer demonstration and your team repeating the task on its own account.
Work through it
- Start with the most important journey. Test from the first screen through saving, exporting or receiving the result in the intended destination.
- Exercise empty inputs, invalid values, duplicate submissions and restricted access. Confirm that the system explains failures without losing useful work.
- Review ownership, credentials, documentation and support responsibilities. Record open issues with their impact and expected resolution rather than hiding them in a general sign-off.
Check your result
- The tested version is identified.
- Critical failures have been retested after fixes.
- The business can access its own data and documentation.
